DESCRIPTION:Presented by the Davey Law Group: Guardianship\, benefits & leg
 al issues related to transition to adulthood for individuals with ASD.\n\n\
 n\n\nLow Down on Law presented by Catherine Davey\, Esq\nThis presentation 
 will explain considerations to think about when seeking guardianship\, guar
 dian advocacy\, supported decision-making\, and substituted decision-making
  for adults with disabilities. By attending this session\, families can sav
 e money on legal fees when they have the information they need to make the 
 best decision for their family members. The program will also briefly touch
  on ABLE\, Social Security Benefits\, Transition Planning\, and Medicaid Es
 tate Recovery.\nThis informative workshop is designed for parents\, guardia
 ns and advocates of individuals with special needs. Attorney Catherine Dave
 y will discuss the importance of legal and estate planning for families wit
 h special needs. In this workshop\, you will also learn the basics of speci
 al needs trusts while exploring both guardianship and guardian advocacy.\nT
 his registration form is intended for UCF CARD constituent families. All ot
 her individuals should register through the Down Syndrome Association of Ce
 ntral Florida.\nCARD families: The session will feature presentations by Ca
 therine Davey\, Esq and associates\, associated handouts and materials\, an
 d light refreshments sponsored by PALS for participants. In light of the hi
 gh number of individuals who sign up for CARD and PALS events and do not at
 tend our events\, we are requesting a $10 registration for this event. CARD
  will reimburse registered constituent families who attend\, or families ca
 n waive the reimbursement to donate it to PALS. Those who do not attend wil
 l not be eligible for reimbursement. All cancellations must be received by 
 48 hours in advance or the registration will be forfeited.
